Young Bodies/ Somebody’s
An acclaimed debut coming-of-age play about two sisters and the secrets they share.
19-year-old June is a first-year student on her university swim team, counting every calorie in the lead-up to her big meet. Her 21-year-old sister, Anna, spends her nights going home with strangers from nightclubs in the hopes of forgetting about that one night.
Both sisters keep their shame hidden, but when their mother, Dawn, announces she is moving in with her boyfriend, and Anna and June must move out, their secret lives begin to unravel.
The debut season of Young Bodies/Somebody’s premiered at Flight Path Theatre, Marrickville, in May 2022, on the lands of the Gadigal people.
The season was directed by Jo Bradley and produced by Carly Fisher, starring Samantha Lush, Lulu Quirk and Erica Nelson.
